Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh

Nagothane, Maharashtra

Bellary, Karnataka

Hyderabad, Telangana

With the help of these 4 strategically located factories in India, we at Vijay Sales Corporation are able to meet the demands of our clients Pan India.

Jindal Pipes under the brand name of Jindal Star manufactures ERW Steel Pipes from ½” to 20” dia.

The following types of ERW Pipes are produced by Jindal Star Pipes:

JINDAL MS PIPES

MS Pipes or MS Tubes are also known as Mild Steel Pipes.

What are the IS Standards of MS Pipes?

Jindal produces MS Pipes as per IS:1239, from sizes ½” to 6” & MS Pipes as per IS:3589 for sizes 8” and above. MS Pipes are also produced as per various BS, ASTM, API & DIN standards depending on the requirement of the client.

MS Pipes have a low carbon content (between 0.05% to 0.25% by weight) which makes them more ductile (they can easily change shape with losing their toughness).  As MS Pipes are made from Mild Steel, they can also be easily welded. Mild Steel Pipes are used for transporting various fluids and gases as they do not break under pressure.

Where are MS Pipes used?

JINDAL MS Pipes are used in almost all of the commercial, infrastructure, and residential projects in India. They are used in Sprinkler Lines for Fire Protection, HVAC Duct Pipes, electrical conduits, Oil & Gas lines (low pressure), Petrol Pumps for Carrying Oil, Exhaust Piping for DG Gensets, Sugar Industries, Cement Plants, etc

Jindal Pipes Limited sources all its raw material (HR STEEL COILS) from SAIL (Steel Authority of India Limited) which is the largest producer of Steel In India. This sourcing of steel from the single biggest source enables JINDAL to maintain its quality for all the pipes produced by them.

We at Vijay Sales Corporation maintain huge inventories of Jindal MS Pipes from sizes ½” up to 20” and supply Jindal MS Pipes all over India.

JINDAL GI PIPES

Jindal Star GI Pipes are produced by dipping Steel Pipes in Hot Zinc to Galvanise them. The Galvanised pipes are then allowed to cool off. The zinc coating done on JINDAL GI Pipes are as per IS:4736. The mass of zinc coating is not less than 400 g/m2.

What are the Advantages of Jindal GI Pipes?

  • GI Pipes have a superior finish and have an anti-rust coating

  • GI Pipes are more durable and have a longer shelf like because of the zinc coating

  • GI Pipes have a greater resistance to corrosion in comparison to MS Pipes

Due to the extra layer of protection which the Zinc Coating offers, Jindal GI Pipes are ideal for transporting water. When water comes in contact with GI Pipes, the anti-rust coating prevents the pipes to corrode (MS Pipes would corrode instantly when they come in contact with water). GI Pipes are also ideal for use in Coastal regions which are near the sea and have a high salt content.

Where are GI Pipes used?

Jindal GI Pipes are used for:

  • Plumbing & Sewage Lines

  • Making Electric Poles

  • Engineering & Structural Purpose

  • Automobile Industry

Jindal Star GI Pipes are manufactured from sizes ½” to 14” in diameter. They are manufactured as per IS:1239 from sizes ½” to 6” and as per IS:3589 from sizes 8” to 14”. They are also manufactured as per various ASTM, API, BS & DIN STANDARDS. Jindal GI Pipes are also either threaded end or plain end (as per the client’s requirement).

Understanding Jindal Star's Product Range

ERW Pipes

Electric Resistance Welding (ERW) pipes by Jindal Star are known for their strength and durability. These pipes are used in critical applications across various sectors.

Manufacturing Process

Understanding the ERW process helps us appreciate the quality of Jindal Star Pipes. This section delves into the technical aspects of ERW manufacturing and how it contributes to the superior quality of the pipes.

Sizes and Specifications

Jindal Star specializes in producing Electric Resistance Welded (ERW) pipes that are renowned for their precision and high quality. These pipes come in various sizes and thicknesses, catering to the diverse needs of different industries. The ERW pipes from Jindal Star are designed to meet various applications, ensuring that clients have access to the correct dimensions for their specific requirements.

Applications in Industry

From construction to automotive, ERW pipes are integral in numerous industries. This segment explores the various applications of ERW pipes, highlighting their versatility.

Jindal Star MS Pipes or Jindal Black Pipes

Jindal Black pipes are distinct from galvanized pipes in their application and manufacturing. This section explores their uses, sizes, and industry standards.

Black pipes, known for their characteristic dark coloration, are significantly different from galvanized pipes both in their manufacturing process and their applications. Unlike galvanized pipes, which are coated to prevent rust, black pipes are uncoated and are more prone to corrosion. This difference defines their respective uses and applications in various industries.

Manufacturing Process

  • Material: Black pipes are made from steel, just like galvanized pipes, but the key difference lies in their coating.

  • Coating: Black pipes do not have the zinc coating that galvanized pipes do. Instead, they are coated with a varnish-like substance on the outside to protect against corrosion during transportation and storage.

Uses and Applications

  • Gas Lines: Ideal for gas supply lines due to their resistance to high pressure.

  • Steam Systems: Commonly used in steam and condensate systems in commercial and industrial buildings.

  • Fire Sprinkler Systems: Employed in fire protection systems due to their high heat resistance.

Jindal Star Galvanized Pipes or GI Pipes

Jindal Star Galvanized Pipes or GI Pipes are known for their corrosion resistance and durability.

The Galvanization Process- Enhancing Pipe Durability

Galvanization is a crucial process in the manufacturing of steel pipes, especially in enhancing their longevity and resistance to environmental factors. This process involves applying a protective zinc coating to steel or iron pipes to prevent rusting. Jindal Star's galvanized pipes undergo this process to ensure superior quality and durability.

The Steps of Galvanization

  1. Surface Preparation:

    • Cleaning: The steel pipes are thoroughly cleaned to remove any dirt, grease, or organic residues. This is typically done using a degreasing solution.

    • Pickling: The pipes are then immersed in a mild acid solution to remove mill scale and iron oxide (rust), leaving a clean and reactive surface.

  2. Fluxing:

    • After cleaning, the pipes are dipped into a flux solution, usually zinc ammonium chloride, which helps in preventing oxidation of the cleaned surface and promotes bonding of zinc to the steel.

  3. Hot-Dip Galvanizing:

    • The core step of the process, hot-dip galvanizing, involves submerging the steel pipes in a bath of molten zinc. The temperature of the zinc bath is typically around 450°C (842°F).

    • The high temperature causes a metallurgical bond to form between the zinc and the steel, creating a series of zinc-iron alloy layers.

  4. Cooling and Inspection:

    • After galvanizing, the pipes are either cooled in air or by quenching in water.

    • They are then inspected for coating thickness and uniformity to ensure they meet the required standards.

Benefits of Galvanization

  • Corrosion Resistance: The zinc coating acts as a barrier and as a sacrificial anode, protecting the steel from rusting, even if the coating is damaged.

  • Longevity: Galvanized pipes have a significantly longer life span, especially in corrosive environments like outdoor or industrial settings.

  • Low Maintenance: Due to their durability, these pipes require minimal maintenance, saving costs over time.

Applications

  • Outdoor Constructions: Ideal for fencing, railings, and outdoor structures where weather resistance is crucial.

  • Water and Sewage Systems: Used extensively in water supply lines and sewage systems due to their corrosion resistance.

  • Industrial Applications: Employed in various industrial settings for transporting water, chemicals, and other materials

The galvanization process is integral to the production of high-quality steel pipes, providing them with enhanced durability and resistance to corrosion. Jindal Star's adherence to this process in manufacturing their galvanized pipes ensures their products are reliable, long-lasting, and suitable for a wide range of applications.
