Every UNIK fitting is hydraulically tested at 20 kgf/cm² (air tested at 7.5 kgf/cm²); maximum working pressure water 20 kgf/cm², oil/steam/gas/air 11 kgf/cm². UNIK GI fittings are threaded pipe fittings cast in blackheart malleable iron and hot-dip galvanised, made to join IS:1239 GI pipe in water, air, steam, oil and gas lines. Because the iron is malleabilised, the fittings take wrench torque without cracking, and because they are threaded rather than welded, a line can be assembled and opened again with ordinary hand tools.
The range runs 14 types — elbow, tee, socket, union, plug, cap plug, cross, 3-way elbow, nipple, tank nipple, check nut, cross over, bush and flange — from 15mm to 150mm. Reading the charts: A is the centre-to-face or overall length of the fitting, D is the outside diameter across the body, and B/C appear on unions, nipples and reducing fittings where a second length or the smaller-end diameter matters. Dimensions are for the fitting itself — the pipe engages further per the IS:554 thread, so allow for thread make-up when measuring a run. Threads
Per IS:554-1999 — parallel female and taper male threads, cut after galvanising on automatic machines with HSS ground taps for true gauge.
Finish
Hot-dip galvanised in virgin zinc, tested per IS-4759-1996. Coating thickness exceeds the IS minimum, uniform on internal and external surfaces.

Its factory runs modern plant and inspection equipment, and every fitting passes multi-stage inspection: raw castings are checked for blow holes and cold shuts, annealed castings for cracks, galvanised castings for smooth continuous zinc, and machined fittings for thread defects.
Two things set UNIK apart on site.
