Mild Steel Pipe Cost Per Kg | Mildsteel Pipe

The Price of Jindal brand Mild Steel Pipes as of 26th October, 2022 is Rs.66/- per Kg- GST @ 18% is extra along with the transportation cost. This price is EX Jindal Factory and is subject to change as steel prices increase or decrease.

The leading brand of Mild Steel Pipes in India are JINDAL, TATA, APL-APOLLO & SURYA ROSHINI. The prices of pipes for all these brands are similar to each other and vary in price in the range of 3-4%.

The price of mild steel pipes depends on the following parameters:

1) The grade of the steel used to manufacture the pipes

2) Price of HR COILS

3) The quantity purchased by the buyer

4) Location of the Project where the Pipes are being used

1.     Grade of the Steel

Mild Steel Pipes are manufactured using low carbon steel (less than 0.25%). The low carbon ensures that the pipes do not harden and are easy to use. The Grade of Steel used by JINDAL to manufacture their Pipes usually have a Yield Strength of 210 MPa (YST 210)

The other grade of Steels available are YST 240 & YST 310. As the yield strength of the Steel increases, it becomes costlier.

2.     Current Price of Hot Rolled Coils

Mild Steel Pipes use HOT ROLLED COILS (HR Coils) as their primary raw material input. The Price of Mild Steel Pipes is as a result directly related to the current price of HR Coils. The current EX Delhi cost of HR COILS (as on 26th October, 2022) is Rs.56.80 per Kg. The value addition done by Jindal in manufacturing Steel Pipes from HR Coils result in prices increasing to Rs.66/- per Kg

The rates are again subjective and fluctuate constantly as per the steel price trends

3.     Quantity being Purchased by the Buyer

The steel business is a high volume and low margin business. The margins of Steel Pipe Sellers vary between 1-2% only. The quantity required by the end user is often a big factor in deciding the final price the user ends up paying.

For example, let’s assume the quantity required by the end user is around 25000 Kgs. In this case, we at Vijay Sales Corporation often get the pipes transported directly from Jindal’s factory to the customer’s site. This results in the avoiding the transportation cost from Jindal’s factory to our Delhi warehouse. The transportation cost is around Rs.1/- per kg. This benefit is passed on to the end user. It is often the case that we at Vijay Sales Corporation benefit our clients by offering them lower rates than what even Jindal offers if the quantity is minimum 1 truck load (around 25 tonnes)

In cases where clients have a bulk requirement at around 100 tonnes, Jindal offers us certain Project Discounts which are passed on to the end user.

In scenarios where clients have a small requirement at around 1000 Kgs, the landed price which clients end up paying increase because Jindal does not allow such quantities to be sold from their factory. These quantities are dispatched from our Delhi warehouse (where Rs.1 per Kg freight is included in the price).

The transportation cost for small quantities are also higher in terms of % in comparison

4.     Location of the Project where the Pipes are being used

The Transportation cost is another big factor in deciding the final price which the customer ends up paying.

Jindal has Pipe factories in the following places- Ghaziabad (U.P), Hisar (Haryana), Nagothane (Maharashtra), Kolkata (West Bengal), Hyderabad (Telengana), Bellary (Karnataka).

We at Vijay Sales Corporation are associated with all of Jindal Factories and can supply pipes anywhere in India from these locations.

For any project location close to these cities, the transportation is lower. For Projects located in remote areas, the transportation costs increase a lot and the final landed price which the consumer ends up paying increases a lot.

Vijay Sales Corporation is dedicated in helping our customers with the lowest price of Steel Pipes along with providing them with the widest range in terms of size and class.

Our customers often find buying Pipes on Weight basis cumbersome as the final weight of pipes is only determined at the time of dispatch. We offer our clients the rates of Pipes in terms of per meter so that they know the exact payable amount. Do check out our Price Lists of
