DRP DI Fittings Explained
What are DRP DI fittings?
DRP DI fittings are ductile iron threaded pipe fittings manufactured by DRP Malleables Pvt. Ltd. and supplied by VSC as an Authorised Dealer & Distributor of DRP. Ductile iron — also called spheroidal-graphite (SG) iron — is magnesium-treated so that its graphite forms nodules rather than flakes, giving it substantially higher tensile strength and ductility than ordinary grey cast iron while keeping the corrosion resistance and machinability of iron. That combination is exactly what threaded pipe fittings on pressurised lines need.
What sets DRP DI fittings apart is third-party safety certification. They are UL Listed under file EX28234 and FM Approved under PR462651 (granted 7 July 2023), the latter to FM Class 1920 for aboveground fire-protection service — the approval specifiers demand for fire-sprinkler and hydrant systems. The fittings conform to ASME B16.3 (malleable/ductile threaded fittings) and ASME B16.14 (pipe plugs, bushings and locknuts), and are rated Class 150, 300 Psig W.O.G (water, oil, gas) working pressure.

Which fitting do I need?
Three jobs cover almost every DI fitting — route the line, join or resize it, or close it off.
Run & branch
Elbows change direction (90° or 45°); tees take a single branch off the run; crosses split into four. Use these to route the pipeline and tap off services.
Join & reduce
Straight sockets couple two same-size pipes; reducing sockets and bushings step down a size; unions join two pipes with a demountable, leak-tight seat for easy maintenance.
Terminate & seal
Plugs thread into a female fitting to close it; cap plugs cap a male pipe end. Both seal off a line cleanly for testing, future extension or dead-ends.
