What does DI stand for in pipe fittings?
DI stands for Ductile Iron — also called spheroidal-graphite (SG) iron. It is magnesium-treated so the graphite forms nodules instead of flakes, giving much higher tensile strength and ductility than ordinary grey cast iron while keeping iron's corrosion resistance and machinability.
What IS code / standard do DRP DI fittings follow?
DRP DI threaded fittings are UL Listed to ASME B16.3 (threaded fittings) and ASME B16.14 (pipe plugs, bushings and locknuts). Threading is available per IS 554 / NPT / BSPT. They are FM Approved under Class 1920 for aboveground fire protection.
